Communication Support Specialist

Essential Functions

  1. Work with the Capital Campaign Core Team (President, Administrative Assistant, Director of Development, and Planned Giving and Major Gifts Officer) to assist in the execution of a communication strategy that deepens relationships with current donors and to bring new donors into the fold.

    1. Assist in the development and execution of all stewardship communications (i.e. quarterly stewardship communications, event invitations, victory updates, donor reports, and other highly-personalized stewardship messaging, etc).

    2. Assist in the development and execution of personalized solicitations, as well as developing special proposals or other special asks for major or principal-level donors.

  2. Assist Planned Giving and Major Gifts Officer in maintaining the planned giving contact/mailing list in the applicable database. 

  3. Under the direction of the Director of Development and Planned Giving and Major Gifts Officer, develop and maintain brochures, case for support, video tours, etc.

  4. Assist in events planning (i.e. Annual Luncheon, donor cultivation and other public and fundraising events, etc.).

  5. Enter donor communication (i.e. handwritten acknowledgement notes, donor contact information, etc.) and update donor profiles through Raiser's Edge, as directed.

  6. Participate in the DSNWK Grant Committee and grant writing efforts. Assist in completing reports and acknowledgements of grants/foundations as appropriate.

  7. Assist the Planning Giving and Major Gifts Officer with sharing information with donors through the use of educational newsletters and email messaging.

  8. Assist the Director of Development in donor recognition activities and displays.

  9. Assist the Director of Development in maintaining the DSNWK website, including the creation and production of online marketing content.

  10. Assist the Director of Development in planning, implementing, managing and monitoring company's social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, and improve marketing efforts.

  11. Assist the Director of Development in the creation of marketing materials such as Developments magazine, and video production. 

Job Specifications

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field required.

Experience - Proficient in use of technology and social media. Prior personal or job related exposure to people with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Extent of physical effort required - Routine job requirements.  Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.

  3. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, public speaking and facilitation skills.

  4. Strong keyboarding and computer skills.

  5. Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism.

  6. Valid drivers license.
