Information Technology Specialist

Provide primary technical support and education to end-users. Assist in installation, support, and maintenance of all computer and network devices. Maintain inventory and supplies. Provide departmental asset auditing and tracking.

Essential Functions

1. Provide primary point of contact support for technical support calls and requests.

2. Establish and maintain an effective plan for education and support regarding adopted software/hardware products and applications for users.

3. Assist in the installation of all computer and network devices.

4. Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and consumables.

5. Maintain inventory of software licenses and enforce compliance with terms of licenses.

6. Maintain asset audits and tracking.

7. Assist in maintaining agency security systems, hosted PBX solutions, and local servers.

Other Responsibilities

1. Provide backup capabilities for Network & Systems Administrator and Information Services Manager.

2. Assist in yearly departmental budgeting and purchasing.

3. Complete other duties as assigned by the Information Services Manager.

4. Will have access to PHI and EPHI of individuals stored in electronic form which is necessary to create, administer, and maintain necessary computer applications to be used in the provision or administration of services provided.

5. This position is not subject to the two-year training period as defined by KPERS.

Job Specifications

Education - High School or GED required. Technical or related post-secondary degree or certifications are preferred.

Experience - A minimum of one year of experience providing support for PC and network devices is required. Physical effort required - Routine job requirements, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.

1. Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.

2. Valid driver's license.
