Internal Analyst (Hays)

BS in Business required, (emphasis in accounting). Proficient in Excel Spreadsheets.

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, full-time position at the Hays Administrative Office.

Serve in support to the Director of Administrative Services and the Comptroller at DSNWK. Gather information by reviewing identified workflows, company policies and reports and engaging in peer shadowing as instructed to become familiar with DSNWK's operations processes and requirements.  Participate in the preparation of analyses and reports to provide information to management to meet requirements of funding sources.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepare monthly financial statements and other designated reports for inclusion in the presentation to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
  2. Perform initial coding of requisitions for supplies and monthly employee reimbursement vouchers prior to review and approval by Comptroller.
  3. Assist in preparation of and monitoring the agency's budget and subsequent revisions.
  4. Assist in the preparation of the annual fee schedule.
  5. Assist in the preparation of the annual County Commissions reports.
  6. Assist in the preparation of extraordinary funding packets.
  7. Prepare designated workpapers for the annual independent audit.
  8. Prepare profit and loss analysis for selected production contracts.
  9. Assist in management of cash accounts.
  10. Assist in maintaining adequate internal control systems and ensuring accuracy of transactions processed.
  11. Compile vacancy/usage information for day services and residential services for monthly billings and funding sources.
  12. Perform detailed review of payroll edit, comparing cost centers and hours input back to timesheets prior to final processing of payroll.

HIPAA Compliance

  1. This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all PHI and ePHI that is shared with this person.  This position will have access to all PHI and ePHI for individuals whose information is necessary to bill or pay for services provided and to determine eligibility for HUD, billing for HUD housing services and consultation of housing related issues.

KPERS Eligibility

  1. This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Complete other duties as assigned by the Comptroller and Director of Administrative Services.

Job Specifications

Education - BS in Business with emphasis in accounting required.

Experience - General ledger accounting experience preferred and computer background required.  Must be proficient in Excel Spreadsheets.

Extent of physical effort required - Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.

  1. Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.

  2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  3. Ability to quickly learn and understand various software applications and communicate effectively with other staff on the software's use.

  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  5. Valid driver's license.
