Working Supervisor - Hill City 

One Full-Time position available - Starting Wage $14.00/hour.

Supervise individuals served employed on contracts: work crew, and/or individually provide training on basic skills, ensure work behaviors are appropriate for the business atmosphere and assist in the completion of contracts. Responsible for the quality of work performed. Assist Day Service Coordinator in establishing productive and quality standards for each contract and/or production area. The treatment of persons served with dignity and respect is a prime responsibility. 

Essential Functions 

  1. Perform job duties at the worksite to ensure quality control and production flow to maintain the contract. 

  2. To supervise, assist, and support individuals served while performing work duties. 

  3. Follow individual teaching plans and behavior programs as specified in Life Plan and keep data as requested. 

  4. Provide or arrange for transportation for the work crew. 

  5. Schedule to meet contract requirements. 

  6. Familiarize self with the rights of individuals served and ensure these rights are maintained at all times through appropriate verbal and physical interactions. 7. Attend initial and ongoing training in a timely manner to meet the needs of individuals served, and meetings as requested by the supervisor. 

  7. Complete all required paperwork and documentation as directed by the supervisor in a timely manner. 

  8. Assist Day Service Coordinator in completing quality control and production flow checks on products and/or services. 

  9. Assist Day Service Coordinator in maintaining inventory of products or services needed to accomplish each contract. 

  10. Operate equipment specific to contract ensuring the safety of staff and the individual(s) served. 

  11. Become familiar with and implement the risk management plan for each individual served. 

  12. Implement crisis intervention strategies including physical restraint, lifting and transferring according to agency policy as necessary.

  13. Represent DSNWK with professionalism and persons served in an advocacy role in all activities. 

  14. Maintain Confidentiality 

  15. Reports issues, concerns, and problems to Day Service Coordinator 

  16. Conduct classes for individuals served in the areas of job readiness, safety, and skill development. 

  17. Conduct monthly work crew meetings. 

Other Responsibilities 

  1. Complete other duties as assigned by the Day Service Coordinator. 

  2. This position will have access to PHI and EPHI for individuals who they support as a member of the Life Plan Team and to provide on-call supports, as needed. 

  3. This position is subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS, unless exceptions are granted due to prior employment. 

Job Specifications 

Education - High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 

Experience - None required. Prior personal or job related exposure to people with developmental disabilities or background related to contract needs preferred. 

Extent of physical effort required - Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention. Must be physically able to evacuate individuals served in the event of an emergency and be able to apply necessary behavior management techniques as directed in the individual's Life Plan. Position may have other physical requirements for specific work sites, i.e. climbing stairs, extended periods of standing, etc. 

Other Requirements 

  1. Desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.

  2. Valid driver's license. 

  3. Must be able to fulfill all contract requirements with reasonable accommodation as outlined by contracting business. 

  4. Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
